CHALLENGE

Present a forward-thinking yet stable and reliable company. Demonstrate their expertise and delivery of established aerospace services and cast vision for innovative research and advancement.

PROCESS

Inventory visual symbology and color palettes of aerospace industry leaders. Research visual styles of emerging aerospace businesses including SpaceX and Blue Origin. Research accurate and effective methods of data visualization. Limit color pallet to evoke feelings of safety, security, dependability, and high elevation.

RESULTS

Arrived at a serious and safe yet modern sleek look for the aerospace company. I created styles for the layout team members to use, defining the fonts, page structure, color palette, and a hierarchy of paragraph and heading styles. The cover and spreads displayed here are my designs. Developed a simple logo for the company that subtly recalls the nose of a jet and gives a nod to the NASA worm.

TAKEAWAYS

This was my first go at defining a book style hierarchy for a whole team to implement. These are my design layouts, but I was happy to see that the rest of the team was able to create a cohesive look using the styles I predefined. That was the goal of this project, so in that sense it succeeded. However, in an actual report, I’d want to be more a lot more creative with engaging data visualization.
